The D-Prize Global Competition is on the lookout for visionary entrepreneurs who possess the drive to establish groundbreaking nonprofit organizations or social enterprises. These entities should aim to deliver existing poverty-alleviating solutions to a scale that can impact thousands, if not millions, of lives. With a focus on over a dozen critical goods and services capable of combating poverty, entrepreneurs are tasked with formulating robust distribution strategies to reach those in dire need. This initiative seeks to identify and support the most promising teams with the potential to create lasting change, offering grants of up to $20,000 USD to launch their new ventures in regions grappling with extreme poverty.

Eligibility
The D-Prize Global Competition is open to aspiring entrepreneurs from every corner of the world, regardless of age or background. Notably, many of our past awardees had not previously initiated projects or secured funding. However, we are open to considering existing organizations if they are distributing an established intervention and require high-risk capital that surpasses current donor or revenue support.
For existing organizations applying to D-Prize, the following criteria apply:
- Operation duration should not exceed 18 months.
- External funding raised must not exceed $30,000.
While we presently only assess applications submitted in English, applicants need not exhibit flawless language proficiency. Grammar and vocabulary errors will not adversely affect your application; we primarily aim to comprehend your innovative idea.

Evaluation Process
The D-Prize Global Competition unfolds in three rigorous rounds:
ROUND 1
- Submit your concept note and resume(s).
- Each competition garners over 2,000 submissions.
ROUND 2
- The top 5% of entrepreneurs will be invited to respond to concise written questions.
- Participants will have a two-week window to draft and submit their responses.
FINAL ROUND
- Top entrepreneurs will engage in interviews via phone and email.
- Ultimately, the top 1% will secure grants of up to $20,000 to kickstart their ventures.
Launch
Following your selection, the subsequent three months will be devoted to utilizing your skills and talents to launch a venture with the potential to benefit millions of people.
