The SoGal Foundation, in collaboration with esteemed sponsors, is dedicated to promoting diversity in entrepreneurship and venture capital. As part of this mission, they are excited to launch the SoGal Black Founder Startup Grant Program, providing financial support and resources to Black women and nonbinary entrepreneurs. Their goal is to break down the barriers faced by Black women founders and foster a more equitable and inclusive startup ecosystem.

Benefits of the SoGal Black Founder Startup Grant Program:

  • Cash Grants: Selected entrepreneurs can receive $10,000 or $5,000 in cash grants to boost their businesses.

  • Navigating Fundraising: Awardees will receive tactical guidance to navigate the fundraising landscape, increasing their chances of securing investor financing.

  • Lifelong Access: Access to lifetime "ask-me-anything" support from the SoGal Foundation and SoGal Ventures teams, offering valuable insights and mentorship.

Eligibility for the SoGal Black Founder Startup Grant Program:

To qualify for the program, applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Black Woman or Nonbinary Entrepreneur: Self-identify as a Black woman or Black nonbinary entrepreneur, inclusive of multiracial Black individuals.

  • Legally Registered Business: Have a legally registered business entity.

  • Investor Scaling: Intend to seek investor financing to scale the business, either presently or in the future.

  • High-Impact Solution: Possess a scalable, high-impact solution or idea with the ambition to build the next billion-dollar business.
