The African Masters of Machine Intelligence (AMMI) is dedicated to cultivating well-rounded Machine Intelligence (MI) researchers. Our focus extends to fundamental MI research and the creation of a wide range of applications that cater to the current and future needs of Africa and the global community.
Graduates of AMMI will emerge as pioneering contributors, either establishing their ventures or joining esteemed industrial and public R&D laboratories within Africa and beyond. This collective effort will fortify the African MI community and, by extension, the global scientific community, leading to significant advancements for the betterment of humanity.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the AMMI program, you should meet the following requirements:

Possess a bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.

Maintain a satisfactory academic record, typically with a minimum average grade of B (or 80%) or higher.

Demonstrate a keen interest and/or background in artificial intelligence and machine learning through coursework and projects.

Willingness to mentor an undergraduate student at your former institution while enrolled at AMMI and to continue mentoring an AMMI student after completing the program.

Exhibit a strong desire to apply science and technology to address national or continental challenges.

Application Process
Please ensure you have the following materials ready for your application:

Transcripts: Upload your official transcripts with your application. This should encompass transcripts from all post-secondary institutions you've attended, including summer sessions and extension programs. If any academic records are not in English or French, please provide the originals in their native language along with certified English translations.

References: Three references are required. Inform your recommenders that they will be contacted to provide a recommendation letter on your behalf. They should share their personal insights regarding your intellectual capabilities, research or professional skills, character, and the quality of your prior work.

Personal Statement: Your personal statement should introduce yourself, highlight your academic achievements, aspirations, and noteworthy accomplishments related to AI and Machine Learning. Additionally, it should outline your academic goals, including post-master's aspirations (maximum 500 words).

Background Summary: Alternatively, you may opt to submit a 90-second video. The video need not be professionally produced but should have clear sound and lighting.
