The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has initiated the Immersion Internship Program for young graduates within its institutions. This program offers a valuable opportunity for fresh graduates to gain practical experience and contribute to the region's development. Eligibility Criteria: To participate in the ECOWAS Immersion Program 2024, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens of an ECOWAS member state.
  • Age Limit: The program is open to young graduates aged 32 years or younger.
  • Education: Applicants should hold at least a Bachelor's (BSc) degree, a Master's, a PhD, or an equivalent certificate.

Selection Process: The selection process for the immersion Program is as follows:

  • Available Positions: ECOWAS departments and reception structures define specific positions for each program.
  • Application Submission: Candidates can apply based on the positions offered by these structures.
  • Number of Positions: There are 100 internship positions available for the year 2024, as listed in the attached document.
  • Technical Selection Committee: The beneficiaries of the Immersion Program are selected by a Technical Selection Committee.

Duration, Location, and Terms: The ECOWAS Immersion Program entails the following:

  • Duration: The program lasts for one year, spanning a maximum of 12 months (non-renewable).
  • Program Location: Participants will work in ECOWAS Departments, Agencies, Permanent Representatives, Institutions, or other designated locations.
  • Reporting: At the program's conclusion, participants are required to submit a report in triplicate, with copies sent to specific departments and for personal records.
  • Practical Modalities: Operational details of the program will be determined in collaboration with the hosting structure.
  • Participation: Selected graduates must attend information or program feedback meetings, either in person or online, as convened by the Program Coordination.
