Aims and Benefits of Wellcome Early-Career Awards
- Salary support for the grantholder
- Up to £400,000 for research expenses
- Ability to retain the salary element if awarded a permanent contract after two or more years
- Award duration, typically 5 years, may vary for certain disciplines.
- Part-time awards are available with extended duration.
Requirements for Wellcome Early-Career Awards Qualification
- An early-career researcher is ready to lead an innovative research project.
- The project aims to advance understanding in the field or develop methodologies or tools for health-related research.
- Willingness to expand technical skills and experience in research methodologies
- Building a collaborative network with other researchers
- Developing people management skills
- Promoting responsible research practices and an inclusive culture
